Shortly after the hijacking I was aboard this ship - 7 months pregnant and gave birth to my son Michael Paul de Vries - no incubator - wrapped in cotton wool and foil, placed in a bread basket filled with hot water bottles and towels. He is a man now - 26 years old on 7.1.2012 living in New Zealand - Head Chef at a upmarket restaurant.
