FRONTAL OFFSET TEST

OVERALL EVALUATION: Good
Structure/safety cage Injury measures Restraints/dummy kinematics
Head/neck Chest Leg/foot, left Leg/foot, right
Good Good Good Good Marginal Good

Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.
Test details:

The Toyota Tundra was introduced in the 2000 model year.

Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. After the dummy moved forward into the airbag, it rebounded into the seat without its head coming close to any stiff structure that could cause injury.

Injury measures — Measures taken from the head and chest indicate low risk of injuries in a crash of this severity. Forces on the right tibia indicate that injuries to the lower leg would be possible.

  • it did great, compared to all the other trucks that year

  • @pharettface it doesen't matter if you lose the wheel, you are never gonna drive the car again anyway... with the wheel gone, it won't come into the passenger compartment

  • @pharettface yeah man i agree the cab crumbling is a great feature of the dodge ram

  • @tundralover Bias thats why. Look at the Dodge Ram of that year it does much better with out losing wheels lol.

  • @Spockkker could it really get worse?

  • @mexico12ism yeah ya know if Toyota isnt as good as the "american" why does it get the best crash test?
