As a transgenderist myself, I really don't understand the motivation for bottom surgery. Does one really NEED it, or is it mainly pressure by society to conform to a gender binary? Your genitailia should be the absolute last thing that should define you in my opinion. Sadly, some really ignorant people just don't see it that way and go about believing that men=penis, woman=vagina with absolutly no exceptions what so ever.

Like I said before, I don't think gender is explainable in simple terms. It is made up of a lot of different parts.

I have a question:
How do you believe that gender is determined?
Social construct, emotional predispositions, physical appearance?
Do you believe in the patriarchal system of binary genders associate by that which is or is not a man?

Some combination of all 3, I don't think gender is reducible to any single one.
While I believe the patriachy has certainly hijacked the gender binary for oppressive reasons, I don't think the binary is inherently oppressive.
