I think its important to leverage our resistance so that we do the most with the least energy and risk, thereby making it so we're able to do the most "damage" to the system, and the most healing to ourselves and the planet. But I think its also important to extend sustainability to ourselves. If we do what is immediate, what we are passionate about, and what does the most good...that energy will fuel us on and fulfill us. Struggling against something so huge as civilization is draining.

For example, I understand that the greater culture is the problem. But I can't stop the greater culture all at once, on its own. But I can offer support, or protection to an abused woman. I can grow my own food. I can host a clothing swap, and start a money-less economy system in my town. And all the time I am doing these things I am passionate about, I can talk to people about the greater problem, help them wake up to it, and help them find their own ways of fighting against it.

I understand what you're saying, and I agree that all the different causes that we fight so passionately about are symptoms of the big root problem. We must never forget that. But to extend your war metaphor, which I think is apt : war is won by a series of smaller battles. We should fight and focus on the battles that are immediate to US individually. Fight for, and change, and heal, what you're passionate about. Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Somebody famous said that....

Yeah, and I definitely see what you're saying, too. The forest is the trees ;)

Word. (fist raised)

AND by moving to sustainability now we weaken the system through various forms of non-participation so we are both creating the new world and destroying the old with one positive action :)

I see what you're saying. Yes some of these things need to be addressed now. I'm just afraid we're not seeing forest from the trees.
I guess what I mean is that we should never forget who the real enemy is, what the real struggle is, but that should always be in the back of our minds, not always in the forefront, if only for practical reasons so that we don't burn out and get discouraged. The most important thing, once you've gone through the initial pain and dispair of waking up, is to do SOMETHING, and to keep up that momentum. Keep on with the videos, friend. You are doing great work.

Thanks for the comments. Great Points. All of the things you mentioned are great ways of solving the root problems because they seem more tangable to me. Sending money to an organization or getting worked up about a symptom of our culture seems counterproductive. Thanks for everything.

Intelligensia, me?
Really? I dinnae.
I've done many videos about the horrors of capitalism. I also will be talking about Marx's Capital very soon since I'm re-reading it.
Why can't we talk about it? Its important. There are experts on all kinds of small issues. But the sex industry, well its a big issue and people are being damaged by it every day. I've made it clear that the root cause of it is the capitalist patriarchy in my videos.
Not sure what else to say.

The sex industry is important. But the culture that produces the sex industry is the root problem. That's the point I wanted to make. I agree with most of your points I just wanted to chime in a concern.
