News Update: New Apple iPod Touch Expected This Fall (AAPL)

At its Xmas in July event in central London, U.K. retailer John Lewis claims a new iPod Touch is expected from Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), packed with a number of new features and enhancements. The retailer based its speculation on ""noises we're hearing from suppliers"".

John Lewis said that he expects the new iPod Touch to have a 5MP camera with HD video capabilities. The retailer also believes it will have FaceTime capabilities and improving its gaming experience with a gyroscope. There was no comment as to whether or not Apple's new retina display would become the de facto standard on all devices.

Apple shares are trading almost 1% higher in mid-morning trade.
