  • i have H.F.A and i HATED having haircuts or it brushed. It hurt so much to be brushed (even gently) and the drastic change of getting it cut upset me.

My advice on this clip would be, there are too many people talking to him at once, hes getting overstimulated and patronised.

Be EXTRA gentle when combing and take him seriosuly when he says it hurts him. It does!

And finally, try to explain to ho him why it is so important to have your hair cut and try to let him be a part of the process.

  • @gurdy44 OMG there is hope. I have a 5 yr old son w/ autism and I had to start cutting his hair because I got tired of his tantrums in public. Well, thats great advice and I will have to try it so that I can stop butching his head.

  • Autistic children have very sensitive hair, it can be so sensitive that it "hurts" to have it cut, we find that it helps to find what the child is interested in before the haircut and do that at the same time with the haircut, or promise to do that after the cut is done as an award. Thanks for this video! Good Luck!
