Any comment on the big campaign against your internet bill? Giving American lawyers power over commerce in NZ - when a Sony lawyer in America can order cutting the internet to a NZ school, business, home or govt office (on its own evidence!) is probably without NZ legal or political precedence, tantamount to handing a small control of our judicial system to a foreign company, yikes.
Naturally Britain, the EU rejected these requested powers from the US entertainment industry!? Not us?
Even though I don't like politicians, John, you are doing a much better job than that Dominatrix before you. I am glad to see that so far you remembered your "free market" roots while the rest of the world is going Socialist. Lets not go too far with government intervention, OK mate?
Peter Shiff, Ron Paul, Max Keizer, Jim Rogers etc...good alternative economic viewpoints you should keep in mind.
Can I please beg with you not to do the same as the insane American politicians?
Please do not destroy our currency by printing more money. If it runs out, and we cannot borrow any more, then maybe we should just let the market correct itself, let the house prices drop...at least we can afford it then. Let the bad businesses and banks go bust.
New businesses and banks will rise from the ashes of the old as it did for many centuries before.
Buying, selling and setting up of businesses are at an all time low at the moment. Lack of available finance is one of the biggest obstacles to this. When competent operators cannot get the finances to buy a badly run business, that business closes down. Without finance that business cannot be replaced either.
How about doing something for the backbone of the economy, the S&M business owners.
2000 construction worker vs 2000 business owners / employers. Do the math.
I believe that if we calculate the hourly Rate of all the politicians around the house involved with this circus, it will no doubt be highly stimulating for the economy if businesses did not have to pay for this charade....don't you think so?
Any way, how about the politicians having question time in their own private time at the pub across the street.. with all the "the honorable member so and so"
I bet you will be able to come to some constructive conclusion on some issues at least.
As part of your cost cutting exercises, how about getting rid of this whole time and money wasting activity?
All I see is a bunch of highly paid children asking deliberate questions to try and make the opposition look like idiots. Nothing constructive comes from these in my honest opinion. The only benefit of this is low punch victories in the political arena....what a waste of my tax money.

Another "last " point while I'm on a roll.

Lastly:

The other advantages are obvious:
1: Buying your own drinks will stimulate the economy
2: You have a whole day extra to actually do value adding work

Hi John couple of points here:
You mentioned question time in the house.
