  • Ah come on now. Patti's voice is stronger than ever at 64 and the Queen's voice is thinning out. BUT, the Queen is the Queen and Aretha has always put her stamp on everything she's ever sang. Tina Turner is the Queen of Rock baby and that's no lie. She's always had it and she's made her stamp. Glady Knight sounds as fab as she did when I saw her as a kid in 1968. Each of these ladies are queens in their own right. I am so glad they are still amongst us.

  • If u ask me the title "Queen of Soul" is an understatement for reeree.

  • @whatigot2say You a full of shit, you are just jealous because Aretha is better than your wack ass singer. There is nothing overrated about my Queen, her greatness is evident in everything she does! I can't say that about Ross. That is why Aretha is the Queen and Diana is her subject!

  • This is when her voice first started to change. She was still amazing but, I liked her voice much better in the 70's and early 80's.

  • @Vincent50

Well put. Give all the divas their props.

Aretha has by far the best recorded library of all her generation though.

Now don't even think about trying to compare these (relative) youngsters to THE FIRST LADY OF SONG thoug , cuz Miss Fitz beat em all live and in the studio. Solid work from 1936 until the 90s and nobody can touch it, and even Queen Aretha knows it. Tooo many albums and concerts (filmed and put out as lps) to deny Ella her crown.

  • cute

  • What a beautiful lady.

  • the early 80's was a beautiful era
