A fitting tribute to Bob Hope for his enduring dedication to our troops!

It is truly amazing all of the men and women that served this country through the years and to see just how long Mr. Hope has been there for them. From before Pearl Harbor to Desert Storm. Even longer in our hearts and in our memories.

  • I was in Vietnam 1969-1970 and I knew Bob Hope was there too. Unfortunately I was too far away to see him for his Christmas show, but just knowing he was there helped me know that all would be OK.

  • @YourMinecraftNeeds And the way Hollywood was before it became a bunch of commies.

  • So this is how america was back then..

  • @Thomrigg Yes Bob was born in London and gained his American citizenship in his late teens. I only found out a few months ago that he was born a few miles away from where I live, after all these years of watching his films! It's a shame we didn't keep him here :-) But I suppose going to America let him reach his full potential, it was a fortunate event in his life. I think America was a good fit for Bob, and he became a very proud American.

  • Thank you for preserving this video. My father, Horace Heidt, use to work with Bob in Vaudeville. I also worked with him at the Starlight Bowl in Burbank.

    Best,

    Horace Heidt, Jr.

  • This is lovely...

  • A wonderful tribute. There is a touching piano piece at 7:20 while BH talks about his show before the 1st Marine Division. Does anyone recognize the name of the music?

  • Thank you for sharing a wonderful video of a man I grew up watching.

  • This man is timeless and had the spirit our nation needs to regain. Don't fuss among ourselver, just kick butt and reclaim America while we still can. I'm from this era and will always love Bob for giving of his time and self to bring sunshine to my heroes! I would love to follow in his steps! God bless our troops and vets AND their families! Blessings, Joyce Shaffer
