The 2011 Minnesota Red Ribbon Ride was "A RIDE TO REMEMBER" - acknowledging the 30 year anniversary of the first diagnosis of HIV / AIDS on June 5, 1981.

Several hundred riders, crew, spectators and supporters gathered at the Mall of America for Opening Ceremonies on Thursday, July 17. It was the start of a 4-Day 300-Mile ride... but the 30 year struggle dealing with the disease, those lost to it and world wide impact - brought new meaning to the event.

This short feature includes video, music and images in a timeline with highlights of the 30 year history of the disease.
