Hadn't heard this in years. It was fun being in the studio with the great Tom Waits...I kept the original lyrics to Old Boyfriends written by Tom with a crayon. Bones Howe was the brilliant producer. Lucky me. Blessings, Edie

The female voice you're listening to is indeed Edie Lehmann; never heard of her before... That's why I used photos of Crystal Gayle instead.
After all, she does sing this song in the final version on the album...

check the info on the right side... by the way, be sure to get the right dvd; there are two versions out there as far as i know... the one without the extras and the one containing the extras (among which the audiotracks and some other things)

I know Crystal Gayle's voice very well and the female vocalist in this rendition of this song is not Crystal Gayle... not even close.

If you're right... then who could this voice be? Anyone? Cause as far as I know, Chrystal was involved in the project from beginning to end. Nevertheless, a beautiful song, whoever sings the female lyrics.
