  • generally sumo allows for a greater amount lifted as the range of motion is a lot less than conventional. Due to the lack of range more muscle cell fibers can be recruited in the trap and deltoid muscles of the back therefore increasing the load. Since a conventional deadlift actually lengenths the muscles of the back the most less muscle fibers can be recruited at the bottom.

  • new Hercules

  • hey Justin nice deadlift. have a look at my training vids. i have a pro benchpress comp today in australia. my weight is 107.4. will see how i go and i will let you knowhow i go. i will have a shoulder operation in 4 weeks, so today will be fun and pain full. i will open with a252.5kg bp and see how i go. Paul.

  • they were sumo deadlifts, your narrow stance deadlifts are conventional deadlifts, both are acceptable, but the purists prefer the conventional ones.

  • Great lift, bro. Excellent form as well.

Turn off the jungle music though. Max out to Pantera. It'll put an extra 50 lbs. on any max lift. lol.

  • and another question...why do i see some deadlifts performed with such a wide stance as opposed to a more narrow stance???

  • multiply by 2.2

  • 310kg = how many pounds?

  • wow
