This is an extremely basic melody line for Cold Cold Heart. For you beginners, after youve mastered this one, try part II...Peace..Mickey

  • Evenin' Mickey, Just joined the YouTube bunch and wanted to add my thanks for what you're so freely doing. I'm a 72 year old "intermediate" (if I might exaggerate a bit) picker who, until I retired never seemed to have enough time for my Mullen RP and now seem to have less for some reason. Your "mini-seminars" are greatly appreciated. I look forward to seeing you in St Louis. This year will be my first time to attend the NSGC 8o)

  • Thanks for posting, and I look forward to seeing you ther as well!...Youll find me either in the Mullen room, teaching in my hotel room...Or of course wandering aimlessly with no real direction, and a dazed look...LOL

  • Brilliant, Thanks for all these videos Mickey. They're great help and inspriation. I got my first steel a couple of weeks ago and am about halfway through Cold Cold heart.

  • Winni, thats great!.....Keep a pratcicing...Mickey

  • Hey DW! Thanks for posting...Im using a Hitachi DVD-HDD Hybrid...Mickey

  • Rob, when tuning these stops, yes, use both pedals for tuning the 3 5 6 and 10 strings. When tuning the B C pedals check 3 4 5 with BOTH Pedals down as well.

  • nice red sox cap there Mickey !

  • @Singlpilot I'm really sorry I don't who got on my account here and left that comment but it wasn't me. I just noticed your reply and was surprised and then read the comment someone left on my behalf was even more shocked. I'm a long time subscriber to your lessons and you've helped me a lot on the steel, I'm forever in debt to you. Again I'll get to the bottom of this and my deepest apologies.

  • At first I thought you were going to try & play it w/o the pedals.

  • What do the levers and pedals do?

  • Great vid.

I have a question. What would you suggest for a total beginner reguarding a steel guitar? I have played regular guitar on and off for about 4 years, but I never learned to read music or anything like that, I only know a few riffs and licks, and would rather pick up a steel guitar for fun on the side of life.

    Thanks buddy.
