Amongst the other outstanding things he did in this role (too many to name), this is one of the scenes that testify to Lugosi's brilliance as Dracula--he can make the simple act of pouring a glass of wine one of the creepiest, most chilling things you'll ever see. That was one thing I think he understood about the role--subtlety is the key. Bravo, Bela, bravo.

You know this line has been repeated so many times and yet it's never been bettered. Some notable ones being Langella who said it as sort of a casual comment which worked but just comes in second, Oldman who said it with a very long pause that seemed a bit much, Nielson who played it for laughs by following it up with just going ahead and drinking anyway, and Gerard Butler who said it about coffee (oh real clever guys). You just can't better Lugosi.
