You're rich going to Halfords :P
-
Merci see you

if you unscrew the oil filler cap before you drain the oil the oil flows out faster, and when the oil is draining why not go for a cup of tea so more old oil flows out?
-
really helpful-even a new tip or two when doing the simplest of jobs helps you no end. Love You Tube for this sort of stuff. Will say though - stick Halfrauds. My local dealer charged me £18 for each of my 5 litres of their 5w 30 oil. Filter was a genuine Ford one of Fleabay for a fiver. Shopping around afterwards on ebay I found a dealer doing a 5ltr + 1ltr oil pack for about £28 delivered.
Its always worth a quick look on ebay / local dealer's website before a trip to Halfrauds.

Mate cheers for this, serviced my Mondeo, from this video, no problems. Many Thanks

When i drain the oil on my car i hold the plastic carton to the sump to stop the oil pissing allover then slowly lower it down. this particular diesel lump in the Mk3 Mondeo are bloody awful. they clunk and clatter and really noisey. I worked on one at a ford garage for my work experience and it had only done 112k and it needed 4 new injectors and ran like a dog. £105 each for the injectors! :O

im doing the servicing myself for the mondeo when the car hit 50.000 miles. its now at 70.000 miles and i've only changed the air filter. but now recently the car smells like diesel when i drive? i'm gonna change the oil soon. but what should i look for that could cause the smells, should i change the fuel filter? have you ever changed it on yours perhaps?

magic fly by space, wot a soundtrack buddy!
Maybe you should pour some oil straight to the oil filter. Engine runs little less without oil pressure

@Tsiikki The filter housing has a drain hole that allows the filter to drain when unscrewed by a couple of turns. It is not possible to fill the filter before installing it.

Good camera work! It must have been difficult to work and shoot at the same time.
Can one just make a critique. When you took the air filter out, you then blew into the air box! If there is any debris in the base of the box, you will just blow it straight into the engine!. Just get out the leaves etc (just as you did) then wipe it with a damp cloth, or vacuum it.
Overall a good video, and funny commentary

@raynkar Thanks for that mate, yep you're right, bit of a schoolboy error that one.

There's usually a drain plug in the oil filter housing - a small bolt in the middle of the hex part you unscrewed it by - that allows you to drain the filter housing without it pissing up yer sleeve! ;-)
Every TDCi I've done has had this caked in crap, though, so they're not easy to spot. I only spotted the first one AFTER I'd taken the housing off and cleaned it up!
Good informative video! :)

@CyberShrek Just done another oil and filter change. The filter housing doesn't have a drain plug.
