Student EMTs Can Save The Day! The development of the Bellarmine Emergency Response Team (BERT).
This video was produced as part of the "Excellence in 3 minutes" program sponsored by NASPA (The National Association of Student Personnel Administrators). This program won the 2011 NASPA Gold Award in the Violence Education and Prevention, Crisis Management, and Campus Security category. In 2007, Dr. Joan Combs Durso and student Evan Kuhl began work on the first collegiate EMS program in the state of Kentucky. Students volunteer to take an EMT certification course through the Louisville Metro EMS and then serve as standby EMTs for events on and off campus (including the Kentucky Derby, the Ironman triathalon, etc.). In addition, BERT is active in providing CPR certification courses on campus. Students learn valuable life-saving skills and provide tremendous service to the University and the community at large.
Made with Adobe After Effects CS5, using Precomps from AEDude's AGENT project and tutorials from VideoCopilot's Andrew Kramer.
