Im a yankees fan too. I think Jeter is a well above average shortstop that is incredibly heads -up as well..and a lifetime .300 hitter who still is close to leading the league in hits this year... But this guy Ordonez was a pure circus freak in the field NOBODY was better. Some may be as good. Nobody was better.

I said Jeter is just an average fielder, and I'd rate Ordonez in the top 3 behind Ozzie, and Vizquel.

best defensive shortstop the mets ever had I think , he was pretty much an easy out at the plate but hit anything his way he'd make an easy out of that. 3 gold gloves in a row from 97-99 was cool too
