@KrisKenis Also, Edgar was quite taken with surrealism in Salvadore Dali's artwork and in the man himself, after playing a gig for him. Having seen a lot of Dali's artwork, I can see that Edgar may have been influenced, in the abstract style of Dali's interpretations of life as he saw it.
Ironically. PF's departure from doing covers and trying to do "pop" came after Gilmour replaced him in '68. Ummagumma in '69 is where that all started for PF. TD was about art; PF was about sound

Edgar was an Artist before he was a musician. TD was putting his art to music. His major influence, with a passion, was Salvadore Dali.

pretty much wore this tape out...starting to get that staticky sound in bits but not sounding stretched and it's ONLY 20+ years old and be to 4 continents. It's outlasted many tape decks.
