We choose to use Marvin® Windows in our home that we built in 2002. In the spring of 2003, we noticed that the paint on the exterior cladding of our windows was bubbling and flaking-off. We contacted Marvin® Windows and their inspection revealed that we had factory defective windows. Marvin® stated that, due to a slight change in their manufacturing process in 2002, our windows were highly susceptible to paint peel and delamination. Over 5 years later and despite acknowledging that the windows were defective in 2002, Marvin® has just now finally agreed to replace them. However, Marvin® has not agreed to cover the cost of installation, which cost twice as much as the windows.
We purchased Marvin® Windows in good faith and certainly should not incur any costs to have them replaced when they fail within 6 months of installation due to a manufacturing defect. We carefully designed and built our home to ensure that we could live here for many years, instead we now we have a problem that affects every room in our home. The only acceptable solution is to have our windows replaced and the complete cost of their installation reimbursed by Marvin® Windows.

I have the same problem. They produced a years worth of windows with this paint. They completed a survey on my house and I opted for new windows and they paid $250 per window plus $10 to stain. Which did not cover the cost. Now the ones they said were not painted with defective paint are now failing. They want do another survey, I want compensation make the problem go away for good. I'm looking into legal counsel.
