The tremolo pizzicato is inspired by the guitar composer Francesco Tarrega and his composition "Recuerdos del Alhambra".
This composition/transcription is part of a program dedicated to the concert venue, the underground concerts in the amazing Cathedral Chamber at Jenolan Caves / Australia, reputed for the world's finest acoustics.
The CELLO CONCERTS with Georg Mertens at Jenolan Caves are the longest series of cello concerts in history with more than 140 cello concerts in over 12 years.

great effort but I think it would sound much clearer on the cello without the tremolo

When the tremolo starts in the (cave) concert, it is the most spectacular feeling. Everyone seems to stop breathing, it is totally quiet. it is impossible to get an impression on a screen with all our everyday noises around.
