Video quality suffers for some reason here and there. Some blues with a Gibson Les Paul Custom straight through an Orange Rockerverb 50 head with matching 2x12 cabinet.

  • Where did u get the backing track?

  • Hmmm, I think a friend sent it to me a long time ago.

  • Wow, this sounds amazing. I have always loved Orange. How much do those heads run? I would love to pick one up, but I'm a 20 year old student and money is fairly scarce lol.

  • Around $15-1600.

  • Holy cow man, I envy your setup.

Sick guitar, sick amps, sick playing.

  • very nice feel

  • Nothing like a bit of blues...

  • Those pickups sound unpotted, really nice tone! what pickups are they?

  • It wouldnt reduce by 50% no. But it would drop the volume quite alot.

You could invest in a THD Hotplate, which reduces the output of your amp whilst still cooking your valves! =]

Or alternatively run it in stereo, rather than mono (flick the switch on the cab) and using twin cables from the head. Because in mono things are louder if there are more speakers.

Hope this helps. its kinda hard to explain quickly, but your probs get bored if I wrote out all the physics and numbers and blah blah...

  • i have an orange quadbox but its 50 kilograms - nearly puts my back out lifting it, so i was thinking of going to the 2x12 like yours.

How do you think it would compare. (i've got a 50 W MArshall JCM 2000 head. It was too loud for home use so i put groove tube 18 W valves in - still too loud, would cutting the speakers to 2 instead of 4 drop the loudness by 50%? I hope so - then I could turn up my amp a bit more to get more tone out of the valves.)

  • The Black Beauty has three pickups... Those Orange Amps Shimmer man...
