Clémenceau was like Putin today , officialy not at the power but control everything , in 1906 he took the power of the defence till 1909 , in 1913 " officialy " not at the power , wrote everyday in the newpapers his hate toward Germany , anyway compared to the others , Clémencau had some HUGE support from Foch and Petain .

As for Clemenceau, he did not "take power" (France had a parliamentary regime, which controlled cabinets tightly and overthrew them periodically). He was Prime minister several times in 1906-1909, then went back to being a simple deputy. He had no power in 1914. Besides, no French politician since 1880 wanted a war against Germany.

The war was planned since 1871 to take back Alsace-lorraine region , Clémenceau made a anti-german propaganda, why do you think when the War happened the french were almost singing , walking against germany, and that's why they made the schliffen plan highed influenced by the franco-prussian war, because they saw it coming , and now why put russia in that plan? Were they magician to know that they will also enter in war against russia? Remember Clémenceau wasn't a peace man.

Besides, plenty of war plans are elaborated all the time, just in case: They don't automatically led to war. In July 1914, most decision-makers believed that this new crisis would be solved by the diplomats, as other crises had been since 1900: peacefully. There is no strict determinism in history.

Nop it does not fit my logic for the simple reason called the Schlieffen plan , if you have opend "hundred history books " you know what that plan was , to invade France through Belgium ( which allowed britain to enter in the war ) which obligate them to declares war on Belgium before France , anyway Clemenceau was already talking about the war in 1906 , and look when the plan was made 1913 , whch show that the war was already planned . It was just a matter of time.

@NasriTheNewKing, thanks for the advice. I've read more than a hundred history books and memoirs abour WW1. Fact is that Germany declared war against France on August 3rd, 1914. Sorry if this fact does not fit with your "logic".

Instead of reading bulsshits from wikipedia , you should open a history book , France had alreade mobilized his whole army before Germany declares war on Russia , France declared war the same day as the German declaration ofd war on Russia , even your source aren't even logic , how the Fuck Germany can declares war on France before Belgium ?
