My band opened for Ambrosia late 2004, and Tollak was on board as their alt keyboardist and vocalist. This guy has amazingly mad skills.

Tollak is obviously a great musician, but I think the techinicians at hohner are also a little more careful in preparing Tollak's harmonicas than they are with the ones they sell to the general public. I haven't tried this model harmonica, but I've bought about six CX12s, and some are really good and some are terrible.

Thanks for the reply! Deluxe, you say...
is there any difference in the sound between the super crhomonica 270 and the super chromonica 270 deluxe?

The 270 deluxe is brighter, louder, more airtight, and the holes are round instead of square, which is more comfy to some.

Does anyone know which chrom harmonica model Tollak is using for this clip? It sounds almost like a mix of saxophone and clarinet - I've never heard a tone this smooth and low. Obviously, Tollak's mastery has a lot to do with it, but still...

It's a Super chromonica 270 deluxe that he was demoing for Hohner last year when it came out. Very airtight and bright harp, but you're right, it didn't sound that way when I tried it!
