Thanks cf1970. What a performance by Pico Central! He ran fractions of 21 and 3 and 43 and 2, dismissed Don Six, his early pace challenger, and then somehow found enough to turn back Strong Hope. Strong Hope was a horse that beat Empire Maker at 9 furlongs, yet he couldnt get by Pico. I had seen Pico in his prior race, when he won the gr.2 San Carlos by 3. He was a longshot that day, but ran extrememely fast and won easy. Should have at least shared the Eclipse w/ Speightstown.
