A song of pain and angst, how can people compare visceral songs like this with trite performers like Beyonce who sing little melodies other people write for them?

Bleak and hopeless may not sell well but it's how many people feel much of the time. Even those of us who only occasionally embrace melancholy find it uplifting to hear something from another wayward soul.

@paulawarner12 all of her albums are completely different from each other, that's just her style as a musician, was she inspired by kurt? yes, and vise versa, you just won't find people saying that court helped kurt to write some of his music during the period that they were together because they dismiss her talent and because she's a woman, which is sad but true.

I can't even.... she was already pursuing her career, she was going to be a star with or without Kurt and just because your partner dies doesn't mean you have to stop your whole life and neglect everything around you, she had a successful record out, a deal with a label and had to keep working, and so she did, and happened to enjoy it, so what?

if they were before curt's death (C/K who gives a ####), then yes...she has a magnificent music talent...but...as the past has shown...people wait for the death of a significant other or cast "mate", to pursue their careers...
