  • That Was Acutally Very Good For All Of That Loss To The Aircraft

  • I used to think that FS could TEACH. After a few hours flying I know it can HELP, and supplement what you acually learn in real flying, but what you "learn" in FS cannot be applied 100% (even 50%) to real flying. Yes, you get the basic idea of how to fly, but there are so many factors not simulated such as G-force, fear, nausea, depth perception, ability to freely scan around you (unless you have TRACKIR or something similar) and so much more. It is an aid, not a teacher.

  • @EFP055 fine this is only a sim and can only do so much on there but like i said in my other post if you were to get in a real 737, you probably wouldnt even get to the runway before been carted off by the local police

but in theory if you WERE allowed to take control of a 737 without all the checks and paper work then yes maybe just maybe he or she would be able to fly

just take into consideration that you need to do a lot of engine fire drills and other failures what a real pilot has done

  • @EFP055 yeah but flying is only half of the job...

what about planning the route, following guidelines and rules, paper work during flight, all the checks that you need to do before start-up, after engine start, before taxi, before take-off, after take-off, decent, approach, landing, role out, taxi to gate / parking, before shut-down, after shut-down the list goes on and on

there is more to flying than just getting in the cockpit and taking off

  • nice landing for the kide

  • Without a licence or flight training, with only PC flight experience, you would probably be able to make 99 out of 100 take offs and landings without any problem. And that is where I see the difference. Pilots are educated and paid to make 100 out of 100 TO and LDGs :)

Another thing are abnormals as shown in the video. To simply fly an airliner like Airbus you don't need to have much skills. Airbus flies like a vid-game ^^

But to handle special situations, thats what they got paid for!

  • @DJHomer2106 Hey!

Ok well let me say it that way: You will have a very good chance to land the airliner. Where it "takes a real pilot ro really takeoff" we need to settle on what you mean by "really takeoff". You have to keep in mind, that "real pilots" do their training in an full motion simulator as seen above. When they finnish their pilot licence, they can really fly and take off. This means, if you can fly a full motion simulator, you can fly a real plain.

  • @EFP055 it need a lot more than just been able to land ect...

if your in a sim and you crash, you havent killed anyone

in real life however its a totally different story

i must admit in the video with the cockpit that is as close to the real thing you can get

so in answer to the OP's comment yes you may be able to takeoff / fly a real aircraft but it takes a real pilot to really takeoff / fly and land

  • @JMsoo

I think it depends of the condition (wind, ...)

With 20kts crosswind, I think you can't do it very well.

But I'm impressed by FS, and X-plane about the quality of the Navigation Aid systems, and the autopilot and all that stuff.

The VOR, ILS, ADF,... are really like in real airplanes.

I don't know much about FS, but I know that the frequences in X-plane are the same that in real life!

  • @EFP055 Orly? Well I can only fly a Cessna in FSX D:

  • Simple..The Airbus pretty much does everything for you..I'm an armchair pilot but pretty sure the Airbus keeps everything pretty lined up in the event of an engine failure.

  • hahaha very niceeeee!!!! Well Done!
