why is you leaning out in front of the horse?? even if you didnt want a lot of weight on his back, you can still be out of the saddle and sitting up straight at the same time...when you're jumping youre gonna get way ahead of him and hes gonna sneak out of the side or something.. i would definitely not ride like that on a green horse but i guess if it works for you.....

He's used to not having much weight on his back, so Gadually entroduring weight and contact to him as to not overwhelm him is the best thing to do.
