@LadyLizard86 The costume designers wanted him smaller of course, so they did this. It is, however, because they wanted energy to come from the actors- not just in the form of a costume, but in size, action, movement, etc.

How hard is it to make a Timone costume... I mean he's shaped like a human. I don't think they needed to make him a puppet just so he would be 8% smaller.

You can still see Simba holding the grub after 'eating' it, but the growing up transition more than makes up for it :D

I saw this show a few weeks ago. The part where older Simba comes in was absolutely amazing. Has to be one of my favorite highlights of the show.
