@ juicyturdtaco... Artists create out of ideas... So are you telling me that the whole span of human creativity was for nothing? And that people are STUPID. Everything that we do is created out of an idea... When an artist puts that brush to canvas it is determined by the act of an IDEA. An the IDEA of that painting is what we see. In the 21st century you might be right, that people only look at the surface of things... But people are not that shallow, and a idea goes a lot further than image.

The artist sometimes always has an idea before he starts a work of art, but he puts those ideas into images making a work of art strictly an image not an idea. When people view art they see a work of art for what it is, not the idea behind it. In the 21st century ideas might be creeping in but i think for the most part people still don't care about the idea as much as what they see in front of them. "oh...it looks good and its crafted well...i'll buy it." OK, im done, im sounding like a dick.

And you are also right in saying that J&D Chapman are great artists. But when you say that art is made up of just images is wrong. Yes art is something that you can SEE... But what do you think of after the IMAGE is processed by your brain. It is an idea that inspired the artist in the first place. And the result is the artist translating that IDEA into form... And I am on your your side I suppose. So I think that you are just as much of an ARROGANT ASS by posing your IDEA as any artist.. So...

@juicyturdtaco Yeah. Maybe you are right. And I do apologize, but ART is all ideas in the 21st century, and there is no escaping it. Everything that an artist creates revolves around an idea, from photo realist drawing/paintings to Abstract sculpture/installation.. It is all really pretentious to people who don"t understand the concept of art. But in the end it is all "pretentious" isn't it. Because you can't really explain your idea to anyone these days without sounding pretentious... Can you.

@hideouschud Who side are you on you fucking chud? For one, art is made up of images...not ideas.Two, im all for Jake and Dinos. They are both the most intelligent hard working artist of our generation. From what i said, in my opinion, is that when you read any artist statement, listen to any artist talk about there work it comes out in a very pretentious manner, mostly to uneducated people who don't know shit about art. For me it doesn't come out that way cause i know there just artists.
