Great video showing off some of the "behind the scenes" of how Dawn of War 2 was initially visualized. It is actually quite remarkable how closely the final product resembles the video and how it doesn't. There were air units!

This video was found in the GDC2009 pack at http://gdc.chrisjurney.com

  • I like how this is FASTER than actual DoW2. I'd love to see some of this fastness and damage destruction implemented in DoW3 :)

  • good point why was the game not like this QQ

  • @Crealtos you can actully make somthin like that with physx.... and how do know if it is scripted?

  • @Imphipis

Because it's pre-rendered and just a pre-visualization. Even a brainless monkey knows that what was showcased here was actually all 100% scripted and 0 actual gameplay, nothing the player did. You could probably make some badass "gameplay" from the existing DoW2 showcase with 100% scripted events/actions and everything.

  • If they did this i would still play the game

  • Why is this better than the real game!?!?!

  • wish this was real it looks so cool

  • Dam i love this video

  • I don't see how it's much of an issue, the only thing they didnt replicate in this video is the vehicles and massive destruction(apart from campaign).

  • this is so fucking cool, they shoulda added more stuff like this in the actual game
