You think of Republicans as racists because that is the propaganda you have been fed. Republicans were the abolitionists that ended slavery. It was the Democrats that were pro slavery. Democrats tapped the blacks in the 60s for a vote pool via the great society and social welfare programs. Shame they actually made the plight of blacks worse by crippling them with welfare. It's taken 40 years for them to get out of the cycle.
