This is the almost completed final draft of a short 7-minute film I directed in early May of 2007. The film stars Ivan Crasci and Anna Damergis, and features David Rice and Aaron Kwentus.

It is the story of Attilio, an Italian man who immigrated to America after his wife died. He is now married to Melanie, but a strange REM sleep disorder is interfering with their relationship. As the two seek guidance from a psychologist, evidence of a past event comes out. Someone else, besides the dark Figure terrorizing Attilio's dreams, is weighing on his mind.

Filmed in high definition with the Panasonic HVX-200 in two full days of shooting, this story is the brainchild of Ryan Leith. Produced and directed by Jesse Springer of Forethought Pictures. Cinematography by Derek Hoffman. Assistant director, Caleb Griffin. Additional crew members, Chris Pogue, Chris Geukens. Music by Sigur Ros, used by permission. Special thanks to Dane Cook, Shelly Leith, Saddleback Church, Pennylane Productions, 413 Pictures, Jeff Webster, and the Cities of Irvine and Rancho Santa Margarita, California.

If you like this story or the style in which it was created, let me know. I'd love to hear from you! For more information on Jesse Springer's film production company, visit www.forethoughtpictures.com. For information on Jesse's voiceover work, visit www.jcspringer.com.

  • hey jesse..lets make an other movie..

  • Ivan, my man! Cool seeing you on here! Hey, I've got a couple things in the works, and I'll definitely let you know if I write a part that you'd be right for. Hope all's well with you!

  • good stuff, well done on execution. But the story lacks a certain entrigue, leaving me wondering why I would watch it.

  • Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you liked the execution. As far as intrigue for the story, stay tuned for my next project!

  • Special thanks to Dane Cook?

  • Heh, yea. He was the topic of a lot of on-set entertainment, and Anna Damergis (Melanie) met up with him the day after shooting and discussed the film with him.

  • cool flick! nice production.

  • The initial transitional shot is very well-executed, the story was incredible, and the ending was brilliant.

Amazing work, jesse, and everyone involved.

  • E bravo Ivan . il lavoro piu' bello che hai fatto ! Continua cosi'

    Massi

  • then you should write something that will fit me,heheh..how are you man?say hi to all crew..ciao

  • i think this is great. i love the murder scene shot. i would like to make short films with my fx1 and fcp. but i dont have anyone to be actors.

  • Sorry, one last thing. Watch watch watch if you haven't already David Lynch movies, especially Mulholland Dr. and Inland Empire (coming to dvd this month).

  • I highly recommend reading or listening to the audio CD's of ROBERT MCKEE's: STORY. This help me out so much. I just recently purchased a camera but still in the writing process.

I really enjoy the time you take to unviel the dialogue between characters. My opinion; linger on all the parts you want us to focus on so that we are so engrossed in the moment.

most people just skip through it. Again, keep up the good work. I'd like someone like your's opinion on my projects in the near future.
