Sacra Rappresentazione della Passione e della Via Crucis 2008. Realizzata dall'Associazione turistica Pro Loco Altofonte in collaborazione con l'Associazione culturale "4 Atti" il 15 e 16 marzo 2008 ad Altofonte. La manifestazione è patrocinata dal Comune di Altofonte, dal Banco di Credito Cooperativo di Altofonte e dall' A.A.P.I.T. di Palermo.

They NAILED them! They actually fricken' NAILED him! Religious Psychosis is the only reason why they have to nail these three to the cross-timbers and footrests. Next year, use your BRAINS and use only fake nails (that don't penetrate and are filled with theatrical blood) to show the nailing of the three to their crosses (cruxes = torture-execution devices).

@Xollob2 Feckintoad is correct. And the stake or animal horn didn't run under the person between the legs, it penetrated the him in the anus, humiliating him totally. Plus he involuntarily pushed up and slumped down, in an unwanted, compulsory parody of... something. The Romans also impaled people like Vlad the impaler did. Even so, Origen called crucifixion the "utterly (most) vile death of the cross" (mors turpissima crucis).

@feckintoad Looks like you're right. I had to look at the first nailing of the first hand THREE TIMES to be sure. The acting was good enough to have me fooled!

@Xollob2 yes you are correct..it would have been carried out with the condemed naked.They would also use a 'sedile' (saddle)(a wooden stake or animal horn) to support the victim to prolong death and increase pain and humiliation.

@cruxguy goto Pampanga,Philippines at easter time ...I am sure they would oblige..but they only use thin pins thru the palms and skin near the big toes.. so you will survive a non realistic renactment..
