"Look, I'm sorry okay Hazel. It's just..."
"Megan?"
"Yeah. Megan." Nick replied looking at Hazel, she really had gotten more beautiful since the last time he had seen her.
"What's going on Nicholas?"
"Well, I just haven't really spoken to her in the last few days."
"And you miss her." Hazel put the words into his mouth. Nick just nodded.
"So uh... How's your uh, you know?" Nick asked gesturing to where the 'NJ' Tattoo would be if it were on his own body.
"Oh, it's good. Stupid. Completely and utterly moronic but, good."
"Stupid? Moronic? How?"
"Well, you're with Megan aren't you? And I'm pretty sure I'm with Joe..."
"Oh yeah, wait, you think?"
"I love him, and I know he loves me, but I don't know if I'm his friend, his girlfirend, or what." Hazel explained looking past Nick and straight at a young boy with black hair playing tag with his own brothers.
"Well, as far as we were all concerned, you guys were doing it."
"WHAT?!" Hazel screamed choking on the coffee she had brought from a mobile coffee cart as Kevin left.
"Oh c'mon Hazel. He's almost twenty one, you're nineteen, he's a guy, you're a girl, you make out, a lot, all the signs are there."
"Nicholas, all those same signs were there when we were dating, and we were only sixteen. We weren't doing it then, and trust me, Joe and I are keeping our promises."
"I'm proud of you Hazel."
"What about you and Megan?"
"Non-event..."
"You're not doing it?"
"No, I mean, we're a non-event."
"What? Oh my gosh, Nick I'm so sorry, since when?"
"Since that day I came over to tell you about Joe finding those notes..."
"What?" Hazel asked again, shocked.
"Well, I went over to her place right afterward and told her all about what had happened. And, she dumped me."
"What, how, why?"
"Well, her exact words were, "Since you're obviously effing your best friend, yeah don't think I'm a moron mr. Purity I know you're full of sh... can you atleast leave me alone, just get the eff out of my life?!" Then the number seventeen hit me square in between the eyes." Nick looked at Hazel. She was smiling, not like a happy person, but like somebody who knew that sort of pain well.
"Maybe I should just go home then?"
"What, no, stay... at least for Joe." Nick pleaded grabbing onto Hazels arm.
"No, I don't think that's a great idea."
"It's just a stupid fight." Nick tried to reassure Hazel. "We'll get through."
"Well, I think until you actually DO make up, I should do a houdini. Just, uh. Tell Joe I'm sorry, and hug Kevin for me okay? Bye Nick."
"See you Hazel."
Nick got up to leave just as Hazel did. "Ti amo" Hazel whispered to nobody. Nobody but the wind.
NOTE: If not enough people watch these, I'll stop writing them. I do like writing all of these, a lot, but I don't see any point. So, if you read them please take the minute or two to comment them, even if it's just a smiley face or whatever, if there aren't enough comments, I'll take it as nobody is reading these and cancel. Sorry.

Yeah, a non-event just pretty much means somethings not happening, in this case, Nick and Megan.
