  • @ExTRaZoRz

Actually the first civilian deaths of World War Two on mainland Britain. Mr & Mrs Gill.

  • Apparently the first death in WW2 was in Clacton Victoria Road.

  • my grandparents live next door to the house i didn't even know there was a crash!

  • It was Victoria Road. It did'nt crash as such. It was minelaying off Harwich and got hit by AA. The pilot saw Victoria Road in the moonlight and thought it was a runway and tried to land. The crew were buried in Burrs Park. cemetary with full Military Honours. Ther grave was still there when I moved from the town in the 70s.

  • Pretty sure its at the junction of Victoria Road and Skemesdale Road. There used to be a park bench with a commemorative plaque on it marking the spot. It may still be there??

  • great vid,,,,anyone know what road it was?

  • Thanks for the video. There is a memorial seat there now. These were the first UK victims of WW2.
