@deaddonkey2010 - Read the PM i send you. For how many years have you played guitar?
-
@thebehmont1 Again, who says music has to be emotional to be good? Slash is a classic hard rock guitarist, its hard to write great heavy rock songs and yet me emotional and melodic at the same time. and as i said, he was messed up on drugs and alcohol for most of his GNR career, i doubt he really gave a fuck about trying to rwrite really emotional songs because some guy on youtube might under estimate him in the future. Buckethead's input on chinese democracy is nothing on Slash's GNR input

@thebehmont1 Yeah that wasnt great, sounded good at parts tho, bear in mind theres a good chance he was fucked out of his mind on jack daniels and heroin during that show. The solos in sweet child o mine are quite good, infact that bucket song u recommended to me was quite boring apart from the solo. the difference between buckethead and slash is buckethead is an instrumentalist. not to mention the clash of styles, so disregarding slash's career in comparison to 18 seconds is just quite stupid

@deaddonkey2010 - Well here's an example: /watch?v=8-vVGRqu7rs. Good music doesnt have to be challenging but you cant say that someone is really that good if he's not technically good. Sweet Child O mine is exactly what i said it was, those solos in there arent good. Buckethead's got much more emotional songs, playing with soul doesnt mean contineous sting bends. Also, Slash's been around for 30 years and has only released few albums, compare that to Buckethead...

@thebehmont1 I mean give me an example of when he tries to hog the spotlight by playing something that isnt challenging? Since when does good music have to be challenging in the first place? The rest of the song isnt just chords and the same riff again, theres a few great solos in there too. I didn't ask how to play an emotional solo, but im sure november rain is as emotional as they come. By the way, buckethead used pretty much the same lick in sled ride.
-
@deaddonkey2010 - I just told you how he does it. And Sweet Child O Mine riff is just 45 seconds of "the same lick slightly varied." And the rest of the song is just some chords and the same riff repeated over and over again. Buckethead created an amazing lick and only used 4 times, i cant even count for how many times the Sweet child o mine lick was played in the song. And if you wanna know how to play emotional solo, listen to Sea Of Expanding Shapes (skip to 2:20 for solo)

@thebehmont1 And how does he go about doing that? You mightn't think they are amazing anymore since everyone has heard them so often, but they are classic hard rock songs. Its not just the great riff in sweet child o mine ( which is one of the most instantly recognisable riffs ever, and isnt any way inferior to the 18 seconds of this song you picked out), its just a great song overrall. His solo stuff is quite good also.
@ScarrletSongs Nope.
