I have never spent much thoughts about signals and trains until a few days ago. Having been on the platform for almost an entire day, photographing train after train and the same signalpost with its changeing signals, the first time in my life it made me think deeply about the importance of functioning signals and trains.
To us it seems normal that everything functions and nothing happens. We almost say "how boring, nothing happens."
When do we ever spend a minute thinking about signals or other technical aids? What if just one signal doesn´t work as it should? What if it signals "go" instead of "stop"...what if you were sitting in that train that would follow a signal that gives the wrong indication? Would you have experienced a crash? Would you be in a hospital, in a wheelchair or would you be dead now?
We tend to take things for granted. But are they granted at all?
How many things do work and we don´t even realize it?
How many people contribute to our well being through sharing their discoveries and progressive developments?
How thankful are we to those, that improve our lives on several levels?
These and other questions arose, when I did that photo documentation... Thanks to the technical developers of signals and trains around the world. Thanks for the conductors of trains and countless people more that contribute to the "funfctioning" world.

Wieder mal was Neues von Deiner Seite. Super!!!
