2010 see's the 175th Annversary of my Favourite of the so called 'Big Four' Railway companies, the Great Western Railway. to celebrate this milestone year many railways across the country are holding or had events based on the theme, such as Didcot Railway Centre, Swindon & Cricklade Railway and of course, The Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway.

The GWSR put on a terrific show as usual during their popular 'Cotswolds Festival of Steam', of which this event was, dispite the set back of a Landslip which severed the line south of Gotherington Halt. so trains Departed Toddington heading through Winchcombe where an engine was attatched to the rear and carried onto Gotherington, upon arrival at Winchcombe on the return, the loco that was at the front of the Outward train was deatched and used as the back engine on the next service and so on.

This event saw many visiting locomotives running aswell as resident engines, on my visit a Majority of the Locos in service were visitors, the Lineup for Sunday 30th May was;

|GWR 14xx Class 1450 (From the Dean Forest Railway, along with auto coach 178)
|GWR 2884 Class 3803 (From The South Devon Railway)
|GWR 37xx 'City' Class 3717 'City of Truro' (Newly Repainted into authentic 1930's GWR Livery (A vast Improvement I must say)
|GWR 43xx 'Mogul' Class 5322 (From Didcot Railway Centre/Great Western Society)
|GWR 78xx 'Manor' Class 7802 'Bradley Manor' (From the Severn Valley Railway)
|GWR 8750 Pannier Tank 4612 (From The Bodmin & Wenford Railway, on shed pilot duties all day)
|LMS 8F 2-8-0 Class 8247 (Newly Restored, running as a Swindon Built 8f 8476)

aswell as these engines listed, a small Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn 0-4-0 painted in BR Black and Numbered '1144' was in service at Gotherington, hauling Breakvan rides in the short sidings they have there, sadly this doesn't feature in the video.

In This video we see all the engines in steam, aswell as some on shed and a shot of a Visiting static engine, GWR Castle Class 5051 'Earl Bathurst' which was on loan from Didcot Railway Centre/Great Western Society, Lineside and Station shots are included aswell as the odd on train shot aswell, i have cut shots down due to the length of the video, although the video is still very action packed! so i hope you enjoy it

so sit back & Relax, and watch the sights and sounds of the GWSR's GWR175 Steam Festival
