This is a remix single on 12" vinyl, from the self-titled album, Pebbles, released in 1988, produced by Babyface.
Pebbles (real name : Perri McKissack), from Oakland, California had a few hit singles during the late 80s and early 90s, and became the manager of TLC, one of top R&B female groups of the 1990s. Her first single was 'Love/Hate', from the Beverly Hills Cop II soundtrack in 1987. Her self-titled 1988 debut album spawned the singles, 'Girlfriend', 'Mercedes Boy', 'Take Your Time', and 'Do Me Right'. Her follow-up album released in 1990, Always, fared nearly as well, making R&B hits with 'Giving You the Benefit', 'Backyard', 'Love Makes Things Happen' and 'Always'. After her tumultuous relationship with then husband, R&B producer L.A. Reid, and her management probles with TLC, Pebbles has since left the music scene has now reinvented her life as an evangelist and she goes by the name Sister Perri.
