@gnomencandle So far it works. I ran it for 24 hours making a starter and it didn't put out much heat.

@dagocleo The idea is floating around I just picked it up. I have used it to stir/proof some wine yeast. Then promptly dumped the stir bar in the must. I'm getting anxious to try it for a beer starter.
