This video was made using 118 of my own private photos I have taken of my rats throughout the years. I have thousands more. To me, rats are one of the best parts of my life. So many people tell me they had no idea how lovely and wonderful rats are. Sadly, rodents remain the only living animals, today, who remain unprotected under any laws. Hopefully this will change!!! Rats are intelligent, beautiful, social and loving...my life would sincerely not be complete without them. They are simply, man's second best friend!!
Many people are surprised to know that my rats are litter trained - yes, just like a cat. For every human year, a rat is 35 years old, as opposed to 7 years for dogs, hence, rats live approximately 2 to 3 years only. Rats are the cleanest animals, and spend two thirds of their lives cleaning themselves. They are extremely social and it is highly recommended to have more than just one pet rat due to their deep social needs. They sleep together, groom themselves, play together and love one another. Rats are also highly intelligent and can learn many tricks, much like dogs. I have had rats for years and continue on the journey of learning anbout their dietary needs and health related matters; and I love it.
