Thank you, Professor. Im actually still having problems fully grasping his notions on art...

I always thought that Heidegger's big sounding words about Dasein was really about the simple yeomen life of the Black Forest. When I want to know what Dasein is I look at the Shire of the Hobbit or the Olympic Forest of Twilight

This sounds like a very Platonic hermeneutic of Heidegger's notion of understanding i.e "learning". Intro to Metaphysics is much more enlightening on this notion that Being and Time.
by the way thanks for responding to my email Professor Anton.

@Inthebeginnigwaslove Understanding is subject to preceptual operativeness which was a phrase that I believe Hans Gadamer coined, the directive of thought ask's the question why, why is the precept to any and all forms of intent of knowledge,

Understanding is prior to interpretation... that is somewhat hard to, well, understand. And yet, if the being is functioning within the hermeneutical circle, thus seeing oneself via Heidegger's hermeneutical-as structure, then they are recognizing the strong, compounded particularity of their history-in-the-making, a relic of sorts which is founded upon generations and generations of meaning and practicality. Almost like history as drama, where the script is written yet always inviting..

Speechless. I am forever grateful for you making these videos. I am reading this in the book. You have the most generous, sharing-heart man. How does the video not have a million hits? Bump this up. Hermeneutical 'AS' and Apophantical 'AS'....so good. Understanding is so key, it's amazing how Heidegger sees this. Relevance and totality in relationship structures, just amazing.

Your topic goes to the heart of the matter.. Being is understanding. Hence the world is more outside-itself than extant beings. This understanding is necessary to pull oneself from subjectivism/objectivism and sway unto the- in-between. I'm working on Mindfulness.

Gadamer?
Ok, now you are just name dropping.
If a man totally loses his memory, does he still exist? Or is existence defined exclusively by the physical self? If there were a way to transfer all the memories of a man into a new body when the old body, complete with mind and memories died, would the man still exist, even though the being which is physically present is brand new and never actually lived the memories? Is existence defined by physical form, or a continuity of consciousness?

@TheRobbie0003 "If a man totally loses his memory, does he still exist?" Does WHO still exist? WHO is the point! There IS a man still alive, still living, but existence pertains to the WHO that we ARE. In this case, it would be a persson who is now existing as someone with amnesia. Existence is a meaningful stretch of temporality, a thrown retaining that projects and awaits.
