Nate Koch, Piano.

This was the first Brahms piece that really caught my ear. One of those pieces where you remember the exact moment when you first heard it. In my case it was my best friend and piano hero Rona that played it for me when we were in 7th grade.

It is amazing! My favorite part is the change of tone around 1:35, it is so beautiful!!! It was a long time before I realized that melody is precisely the inversion of the first few measures of the piece!

But the climax starting at 4:05, OMG!!!!

This is a pretty slow recording, I was feeling very very introspective and nostalgic at the time and was enjoying every single delicious brahmsian fat juicy chord :)
