With some of the most lavish sets, costumes and special effects ever to have been created for the stage, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera directed by Harold Prince traces the tragic love story of a beautiful opera singer and a young composer shamed by his physical appearance into a shadowy existence beneath the majestic Paris Opera House. Adapted from Gaston Leroux's classic novel of mystery and suspense, this award-winning musical has woven its magical spell over standing room audiences in more than 100 cities worldwide and is now the longest-running show in Broadway history. Phantom returns to San Francisco to take your breath away.

  • Argh!!! Changing the title to 'Phantom' really takes away from magnificance from 'The Phantom of the Opera' imo

  • AMAZING. I saw it on the 20th (yesterday) as well. Ms.Moldovan was perfect. My favorite Christine yet.

  • I suspect Mr.De Ambrosio is a beautiful person as he is a singer. Saw in the mid 90's as Phantom and sent him a thank you card for the absolute joy he gave me with his performance. One year to the day I rec'd a handwritten/signed letter back from him. To say my heart jumped over the moon would be an understatement. I had the ticket stub, playbill and letter in a scrapbook until lost on a move. Nonetheless that night is as memorable as it was then

  • I'm SO glad I saw this twice when it came to SF in '08. i'm gonna miss seeing this on tour. i wish they'd reconsider the closing of the tour

  • Watched the musical in london when i was a kid .. damn it was scary and didn't understand a thing but now .. WOW i love the musical so much i'm like obsessed with it XD

  • Phantom is not the new title...we say "Phantom" for short because saying Phantom of the opera 20 times in one sentence gets kinda annoying

  • I dont think they have changed the title, just using only Phantom on promo material. I must say though, I do hate the new logo.

  • the new sound system for the show is INCREDIBLE! the Title song sounds SO much better w/ it

  • i miss it :'(
