Here's one of my favorite of the more contemporary Christian songs. This past year I've been one of the Youth leaders in our church, and I found I had to learn a bunch of new songs, most of which I'd never heard before. This one by Paul Baloche and Lenny LeBlanc was just one of them.

Above all powers
Above all kings
Above all nature
And all created things
Above all wisdom
And all the ways of man
You were here
Before the world began.

Above all kingdoms
Above all thrones
Above all wonders
The world has ever known
Above all wealth
And treasures of the earth
There's no way to measure
What You're worth.

Crucified
Laid behind the stone
Live to die
Rejected and alone
Like a rose
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all

Above all powers
Above all kings
Above all nature
And all created things
Above all wisdom
And all the ways of man
You were here
Before the world began

Crucified...

Like the rose
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all.

  • hi jack - wonderfully done. I have not yet seen a more peaceful version than yours. I love it.

I am planning to play it for my fellowship too, and I like your strumming with the thumb and the 4 fingers... I understand when the thumb is used the base are louder while with the 4 fingers the lower strings are louder, but I have trouble following when each is each from the video. Is it possible for u to post it here?

  • The pattern is t m i t m i a m where t=thumb, i=index, a=ring finger, and m=middle finger.

  • Hey jack, I'm just a little confused about the pattern. Could you please tell me which string I would put my thumb, middle, index and ring finger at?

  • Your thumb plays either 6th, 5th, or 4th string (or course if playing 12 string) depending on what chord you're playing. If G you would play the 6th string, if C the 5th string, if D the 4th string. Your first, second and third finger would be playing the third, second and first string respectively. Hope that helps!

  • Thanks brotherman continue to bless the people with this

    gospel music. Pure & clean!

  • Your certainly welcome! Thanks for watching!
