  • Ok. My viewpoint on this is that some mental health professionals charge extortionate prices for helping ppl - which is wrong as u so rightly say. However, the problem is the demand for help is2high n the government/ health secretary are doing little to solve the problem.Albeit they now introduce the IAPT program - are u familiar?Nevertheless u cnt deny the benefits of CBT-they are proven. And, I wud much prefer some trained in it guide me thru my difficulties rather than an unqualified volunteer.

  • @Keepsmilinorg Is incredible, she is taking of her time to do educational videos about mental disorders and people with no knowledge only critizices. CBT cures a lot of mental disorders and behaviors. You cant change many external things but CBT helps change the way people view the things!! For example one people can feel very depresed if loose the job, and othe people in the same situation can view this like an oportunity to find a better job, or an opportunity to make a lot of things...!

  • Great vid, please keep em coming

  • Sorry see above comment. Basically we're going round in circles - you thing changing the external causes is enough - it simply isn't but more does need to be done

  • Sorry but I can't accept CBT as a proper job. In China people are working like slaves, here in England people work in Care Homes on the minimum wage all year for nothing and she is earning good money for gossiping.

If someone has been raped and needs to talk about it they can find a close friend to do that with. I they haven't got any friends then Linda can do voluntary work and in her spare time & comfort people. But to dress CBT as scientific and make money of peoples misery is disgusting.

  • I don't think you understand how currupt the world actually is. Politicans cherry pick statistics, accountants fiddle the books, people on benefits exagerate claims and psychiatrists exagerate the benefit of the medication.

  • 2things: there is a cure for AIDS (ill show can send you a link to the patent)& also there is a change in brain chemistry from an unhealthy&healthy mind. My point wud be to do 3things:create a better environment, promote proven 'talking treatments' which create no harm and request more research in2 medication - im personally anti medicaton is some circumstance because I think its given out2easy&ppl become dependant BUT sum mental illnesses require medication& it is proven2 help

  • That's why methods like CBT are created to help people to cope with something like that. Even if the external environment was changed then it still would help the person who has already been raped thus, some psychological help is required. Like I say you have a point but it isn't a fix all solution and you need to stop viewing it as such. Another example would be a phobia something really scare people and others dont like flying, even though its the same thing - peoples perception is different!!

  • There's two fundamental problems with this arguement. First, it's completely impossible to create an environment where no one will ever get harmed or suffer from a traumatic experience. All though you can create boundaries, things will still always happened. It seems your approach looks more at prevention, which is great. But, for someone that has been raped and they are struggling to deal with it what do you propose. The ruminations of the traumatic experience will undoubtedly cause stress and

  • Ok my proposal would be to inform the general public that psychiatry has been around for over 200 years and still no biological test. There's no cure for cancer or AIDS but at least they han see cancer with a microscope and try and cure it.

With mental illness there is no biological test so they don't even know what their attempting to cure.

If the public knew this they would be more aware of what could be causing their problems instead of switching off and thinking they have a disease.
