@117thWing I have many Greek friends who hate the Greek government policies however I also have many Turkish friends who hate the Turkish government and want it to go back to an expasionist style doctrine the Ottomans had. Believe it or not but Turkey's military is defensive in it's thinking. Oh well both sides pilots practice g-force aerobatics in the Aegean and that is what we use the weapons for. It's good that at least now both countries have mutual disgust at Israel's disregard on civi's.

Yes, that's what I said and I don't feel sad that "our" king lost. They were going to just kill the turkish people for no good reason, if there even is a good reason to commit mass murder.
I do not understand the reason why we should spend millions on weapons which will never be used. Who is that great enemy that NATO must be strong for anyway? Just dissatisfy the US and your country will be labeled as a terrorist collaborator.

@117thWing You contradict yourself by saying the defending country always wins in the end. In 1922 Turkey drove the invading Greeks out in a week from the launch date of the buyuk tarvuz (great offensive) at Ankara. Just wandering what Greece will purchase as their next gen fighter. Turkey is getting F-35's. 16 of which will be for the aimed purchase of a LHD (carrier), swap heli's for F-35 VTOLS. Not good that Greece is cutting it's armed forces by 33 percent. NATO should remain strong.

In 1922 it was our Greek army the one who invaded Turkey. Your people were defending their country and the one who fights for his country always wins in the end.
As for 1974... We had the firepower to defend Cyprus but the military government decided not to act...
