I have an RCI 2950 and an Icom IC7400 - as well as 3 Yaesu and 2 Kenwood radios (even an Alinco) all for HF/11m etc. wanted something different. Bit of a collector and like to try new kit.

If you are going to buy a real hf radio get a rci 2950 or icom.
-
Ok, as there are so few radios available (talking about buying new) please clarify your idea of real radios fella.

cobra m75 high gear mic sounds well on this rig too.

Hi BoogeyMan, a little different board and some other components here and there but other than that sure is a lot like the 158EDX. Thanks for the comment, regards to West Texas

Thanks for the message. Yes it makes CW, Yes has the large heatsink. rOHs+CE Approved, am informed yes to both but the importer CRT will not reply to emails. **** EDIT**** SENT NOW 12 EMAILS AND NOT REPLIED, SO IN THE MEANTIME THE ONLY ANSWER IS THAT THE RADIO IS NOT NOT APPROVED rOHs

Yes the radio works well after the initial 15 minutes till all things are steady is the easy answer.
SS158EDX, has a slightly different board but yes the features are the same Gavlemannen66. And power, have made tests and mine makes 5-20w AM/FM and on SSB now with the standard Mike it is 29-32w

Leave the power set below 20w ssb and works well with KL500
