The philosophies of reflexology and chiropractic are obviously bullshit, but part of the process is helping people to relax, which is extremely helpful by itself.

By the way, I have some friends who have been cured of ailments by alternative medicine, even though the methods were unscientific. Many of our pains come from stress (as in conversion disorder) and the best practices for curing someone usually includes respectful validation as a first step.

I don't even need a full episode on this. We had this eccentric science teacher in high school who dedicated a week out of the curriculum to teaching "Quackology" and the dangers and history of false medical science.
