Tehri Dam on Bhagirathi river has already started taking its toll on the Ganga. Flow reduced from 1000cusecs to a negligible 2 cusecs (500 fold reduction!). Lots of silt, upstream as well as downstream of the dam. The beginning of the end. Sigh :(
